“I want to view dance through different lenses, explore it from different positions and twist it the different angles to see how movement is connected to everything around us and inside us.”

Henna-Riikka got enthusiastic about dance at the age of four. She studied dance 15 years in Tanssistudio Funka in her hometown Lohja in Finland. 1998 she started also teach youngest students of the school and got interested about teaching.

Henna-Riikka has done her BA studies in Turku Arts Academy, Finland where she graduated 2005. She was for example exchange student in Listdansskóli Ísland and also did her teaching practise there.

MA studies in dance Henna-Riikka did in Theatre Academy, Helsinki Finland and graduated 2009. Part of the studies was one year contemporary dance project for dance student in Ísafjörður Iceland and Kuopio Finland.

Years 2005-2007 Henna-Riikka teached classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazzdance and children´s classes in Listaskóli Rögnvaldar Ólafssonar, Ísafjörður Iceland. After her master studies she returned to LRÓ.

Henna-Riikka also works actively in the community by making performances for the senior citizens, kinder gartens and local events.
