Katrín Ágústa Johnson began her ballet studies with the Ballet School of Edda Scheving at a young age and continued her studies with the National Ballet School of Iceland. She went to study in Sweden at the age of 16, and graduated from the Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm in 1996. Katrín has also studied in England and Denmark and has received a grant for young artists and a cultural grant from the city of Reykjavík. She has been a member of the Iceland Dance Company since 1996, apart from the season 2005-2006 when she was working at the Stadt Theatre Bern in Switzerland. Katrín dances one of two roles in Katrin Hall’s dance short film “Burst” which received an award at a dance festival in Toronto, Canada.
